Moira Fitzpatrick, PhD, ND, FICPP, CHT, has been named Bastyr University California’s new vice president, serving as both chief administrative and academic officer. Bastyr University President Daniel K. Church, PhD made the announcement during yesterday’s Spring for Health Luncheon in downtown Seattle.
“I am honored and excited to lead and be a part of the team at Bastyr University California,” said Dr. Fitzpatrick. “I stand on the shoulders of Dr. Bastyr, the founders of Bastyr University and my teachers, and know that education is the way to not only keep natural medicine alive but also to nourish and support its continual evolution. Let us work together to transform the health of the human community.”
Dr. Fitzpatrick has a BA in developmental psychology from UC Davis, an MA and PhD in clinical psychology from California School of Professional Psychology and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from Bastyr University. She is currently the principal at Emerald Center for Integrative Medicine in the Seattle area.
“With administrative, teaching, research and clinical experience, Dr. Fitzpatrick is perfectly poised to provide leadership to our California Initiative,” said President Church. “She has a passion for restorative healthcare, is entrepreneurial in spirit, deeply committed to integration of conventional and natural approaches to care, and sensitive to the needs of students, faculty and patients.”
Dr. Fitzpatrick will begin her new position in the early summer. The first class of San Diego students will begin in September.
